Senior Business Development Manager Anser Advisory Management LLC La Palma
To manage microplastics in wastewater effluent and biosolids, it is critical to first understand the various mechanisms through which microplastics interact with treatment processes. This presentation will serve as an overview of understanding of microplastics in WRRFs to serve as a critical perspective on the state of the science.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe microplastic occurrence, fate, and transformation along a wastewater treatment process.
Upon completion, participant will be able to identify high-level management strategies for microplastics in wastewater effluent and biosolids.
Upon completion, participant will be able to understand the criticality of nanoplastic detection as it informs mass balances.
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the current regulatory outlook for microplastics in biosolids and wastewater effluent for California.
Upon completion, participant will be able to list the upcoming source control regulations to decrease microplastics in wastewater.
