Mark Niemiec, P.E.

Mark Niemiec obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Resources Engineering from Humboldt State University and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He has served as the Director of Advanced Water Purification for the East County AWP Joint Powers Authority since August 2021 managing and overseeing the design and construction of the new facilities from each of the five packages. He is a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California with more than 20 years of professional experience in the water/wastewater industry. Mark is a Southern California native and now considers San Diego his home along with his wife and 6 children.
