Reliable Wastewater Treatment for Reliable Water Supply

This presentation details how the project team started with a wastewater master plan update and ultimately performed a cohesive secondary treatment alternatives analysis. Work performed on this planning project provides a comprehensive roadmap setting the City up for cutting-edge wastewater treatment to reliably serve as supply for potable reuse.

  • Be aware of how combined wastewater treatment and water supply master planning can be used to prioritize realistic and multi-benefit strategies for long term CIP planning.
  • Recognize how to incorporate and quantify unique project drivers and context to make pragmatic and sustainable investment decisions.
  • Understand key criteria for evaluation and decision-making processes when comparing WWTP rehabilitation versus a replacement alternative.
  • Demonstrate a high-level understanding of MBR treatment process and design to satisfy considerations for implementing a potable reuse ready facility within a small footprint.
