Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has been widely utilized in the wastewater industry as a troubleshooting tool results of which are usually used to identify the most cost effective modifications required to improve the process and /or hydraulic performance of a sub-optimally designed unit.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participants will be able to understand what CFD is and how CFD models are built.
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to understand the key design considerations for an aerated grit chamber.
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to understand how CFD can be used as a design tool to help improve unit process performance.
